Just bought a utility grapple and it has a 3/8 fitting on one end of the cylinder and a 1/2 on the other. Will this work to slow the slamming of the grapple or should I just change them both over to 1/2 inch and run flow control valves?

I like flow control valves because I have seen many a hose bust due to a pressure spike of a high flow machine on a system that doesnt need all that flow. I install the flow restrictors on both lines at the machine connectors.

A cross over relief valve on the loader side of the restritors would not all be a bad idea either to allow adjustmenttothe max pressure and therefore power of the cylinders.
I can see my grapple flex under the stress of the cylinders if I get the pressure too high
