Bought a grapple that kept crushing hoses, fittings and even one cylinder. Sold it and got a name brand grapple with more guards but broke fitting on hose end first time using it. Is there any guard or some sort of stop I can install to keep bucket from smashing the fittings? Fittings are centered on grapple bucket and look like they shouldn't be getting pinched in that position. This is being used on a Bobcat 753 skid loader.

I had the same issue when I got my grapple bucket. I made two modifications to better protect the hoses.
1. I cut a piece of square tube and welded it to the back of the bucket. It is inline with the left boom arm and acts as a stop to keep the bucket from being able to be curled all the way back. This is how I crushed the first hose.
2. I added 90° elbows behind the hydraulic couplers to route the hoses across the front of the loader. In the middle of the bucket I attached a heavy piece of cable pointing straight up and attached the hoses to it. It helps keep the hoses supported above the bucket and will bend allowing the bucket to be dumped. When I curl the bucket back, it helps lift the hoses up and away from the back of the bucket.
My buddy has damaged so many hoses on his grapple, he now keeps spares on-hand...
