OK guys my father In Law fancies himself as a big time long time operator. In fact, 35 years of shuffling papers and telling other guys what to do. Now he comes up here when I'm gone - to do work on my property, using my 763!
Anyway, according to him, just as he was reaching to turn it off, the thing quit - but it showed 1/4 tank of fuel. guage is always a bit wonky, so most likely he ran out of fuel, but according to him he immediately shut it off, put in 5 gallons - “filled the fuel filter” pumped the bulb (somewhere along the line he broke that thumb screw off - he has not bothered to tell me that yet!
anyway, he cranked it a bunch and could not get it refired. So of course, it's now my problem, since I am now done fixing the lawn tractor he broke yesterday.
When i pump the bulb, fuel is coming out dfrom around the plastic valve at the bottom of the filter. I tried upening it up, draining a bit of fuel, and repumping it, but as soon as I pump the bulb, it starts leaking again. So i assume I need a new fuel filter, and might as well do the oil filters as well while I'm at it, but anyone have any insite or experience for me? i'm just a dumb biologist, The 763 is my first mantoy!
