When I rebuilt the engine I noticed there was not a block heater installed or it may have been removed. Therefore, I would like to install one and get some input on the type and model I should purchase. Some prefer the O.E.M. in-block heater located in the soft plug. Some like the lower radiator hose in line system and also suggested was the in -line canister heater hose type. Then I saw the magnetic style . Or does it need one at all since the engine starts well. I would like your suggestions, comments.and expertise in this project. I know I should have installed one when I had the engine out. Thanks, Mecster

visit www.zerostart.com download their catolog and look up your engine model, that will get you a part number and the location in the engine it should be mounted. You favourite auto parts store should be able to cross the number or a zero start distributor can supply one. Imo in block is the best way to go. Best use of the wattage consumed.

If you go with a block heater then use the OEM from NH. Where the heater goes is extremely tight quarters. There is just enough room for the heater cord to pass the starter protection cover.
