Deutz oil capacity

I just drained the oil from the Deutz 2011, I was surprised to see 3.25 gallons come out, I put 6 quarts back in and will add the rest when the oil cooler is hooked up, Do you think there will be an issue testing the engine with only 1.5 gallons. oil cooler isnt hooked up as the engine is sitting out of the burned machine.

It should be ok but take the oil lines and hose them together, with no load it should be able to run for a while safely heat wise. IMO

Yes I capped the lower lines for heater and used a hose for upper connections. Thanks.
