Ctl70/mtl20 info needed

Hello I have owned this machine for some time, love it. But we are due to replace the hydraulic fluid. This has brought up several issues first problem is nobody can cross reference the spin on filter. We can find the line filter but not the spin on. Second and most concerning is my manual calls for 10-30 cd Diesel engine oil. I cannot locate rotella here in 10-30 in bulk. Then I found out the cd is obsolete. I talked to where we bought it they said they use 30 wt hydraulic fluid in them. I called a random mustang dealer and they said use rotella 15-40. My dad who has worked on our equipment since I can remember kinda flipped when I told him about the engine oil in the hydraulics thing. Hydraulic oil id half the cost of engine oil but hydraulic pumps cost a fortune! Any advice you fellas may have on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hydrostatic drive pumps/motors need the heavier oil, hense the 15w40 recommendation. I personally run 20w50 in my machines, i live in australia, so our winters never get below freezing. I thought the same when i was told to run engine oil in my first machine, i thought no way, that can't be right, but it was.
Some do use heavier weight hydraulic oil in their machines without issues, i think it was 46 weight? don't quote me on that though.
As for the filter, you may need to get it off the dealer, generally their prices are pretty good.

Thanks, I actually found 10-30 Rotella locally for 1.00 more that 15-40 so I am good now. I will try the dealer.

Got it from the dealer, about 60.00 but not terrible. Tried to get one last job in before the major maintence. But after about 3 hrs main line to the left drive motor went to leaking. Got it all torn down and put back together. Once we know we have the leak fixed I will drain the tank and refill with fresh oil.
