Hello and thanks in advance for help with almost identical problem with a small difference. I have parked the 1994 Case 1840 after working with it for a few hours with absolutely no problem and the next morning the engine started as usual, the lift and tilt worked perfectly but no left of right back or forward drive. I started looking in this forum and found this very similar occurrence. I read the replies and went back to the loader, removed the seat, took photos of the tandem pump. I also opened the back swing door with the transmission cooler and took pictures of the small pump there. There are no leaks nowhere and also none of the instrument panel lights indicates any problem. They all go off after the engine starts running. I looked at the tandem pump and it looks that both the first and last stage are for the left and right drive while the center stage is for the lift and tilt. If a spline were split inside I would assume all stages after the breakage would stop delivering pressure so I am confused as to how the first and last stage would not work and the center stage in between would work properly. The engine sound doesn't change at all if the I try to go left or right or forward or backward as if the flow of oil was obstructed someplace (I am assuming the 1st and last stage of the tandem pump is OK for the reason that the center section is working fine). Also the next confusion comes from someone responding to the initial question (the last response) and says that the problem is caused by the small pump under the radiator. I am not sure what that small pump does, could you please clarify that? How do I attach photos to the message? Thank you for your help.
