it does not have to be exact ,just be carefull not to make a habit of slamming it either fully open or fully closed.

places like tractor supply and northern tool usually have a few cylinders on the shelf, and a goodly assortment of hoses, could easily cylinder that thing with the northern tool just up the street from me

if you have such a place handy, most farm supply places are the same

Yes I made one for my machine and it works pretty good. Tears the earth up turning but it was cheap to build.
I keep a rock handy to knock the clay we have around here out of my digging bucket.
