Bradco backhoe mount

I purchased a like new Bradco 609 Backhoe for my773G Bobcat. It was used on a New Holland skid steer and has the frame mount and arms for it. What I would like to know is do you think I could buy the right mount that goes on the Bobcat and modify the subframe mount/arms that are on the backhoe to reach/fit to the mount on the Bobcat? It has the hook type coupler on it. I have a machine shop nearby that could do the modification if it could work. I called Bradco and a new mounting kit for the 773 would cost about $1350.00 with shipping included. The subframe mount/arms cost about $125.00 and the frame arms costs about $1100.00! All advice appreciated. Thanks!

Anything can be modified to fit your machine. If you know someone with a little "know how" they can setup trailer couplings for like $100, its very simple yet very effective! Most people prefer the new style Bobcat use though, i'm happy with my trailer ball style for the few times i use it.

I think I will order the mounts for my Bobcat and then hook up to the backhoe with the quick attach or Bobtach and then take measurements and see what we will need to do from there.

We cut the arms off of the subframe mount so that we could hook up to the quick attach or bob tach, but it wouldn't quite fit in. The subframe arms were hitting the cross member on the Bobcat lift arms. Anyway I thought that the quick attach was universal to all skid steers. As I said before, this mount was for a New Holland but I thought that I could hook up to that without any problem. The top fits in fine but the bottom likes about 3/4" going in. There is still a little room at the top but the bottom of the lift arms (the center rod that the arms turn on) are hitting the piece of angle that the quick attach fits in. I can cut the piece of angle off and move it up a little and weld it back on or I may try cutting out a half moon piece to let the lock arms move up a little. I'm just suprised that it wouldn't fit right. After I get the quick attach to fit I will have to measure and see how much longer and higher I will have to make the arms so that they will work and hook up to the Bobcat. After saying all of this I just would like to know if any of you have run into this problem with trying to hook up to a quick attach and it not fitting. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I never had a problem with attaching mine, i simply cut the brackets off and made a new set to fit my machine. The old ones were totally different so i cut them off, was too much effort to modify them. It will just take a little time to work it out, you'll get there!

When you say brackets, you are talking about the arms that attach to the bobcat frame mount? And when you cut them off, all that was left was the quick tach, right? That's where I'm at. But I was having a problem getting the quick tach to fit up. It likes about a 1/2" to 3/4" fitting in at the bottom.

I removed the arms from the hoe so you could attach it to the machine and there was nothing in the way. I then fabricated the arms to link up with the brackets on the chassis of the bobcat.

Actually, it's a horizontal gap at the bottom. I will have to cut out around the lock handle swivels and/or move it up about a 1/2". I appreciate your input on this tazza. It's good to know that someone else has dealt with this and succeeded. I believe that we can make it work. Also tazza, when hooking up the backhoe, what are the steps in setting up the hydraulics. Of course after hooking up the backhoe and the hydraulic hoses. I've read thru the manual but it's not real clear. As far as programing the buttons and switches.

On my 753 i press the aux hydraulic button twice so both LEDs are lit then press the trigger on the right stick to start the oil running in continuous mode. Press the trigger again to stop the flow. Your machine may be different to get it working that way, but you need continuous flow. When its engaged you should be all set to dig holes!
Ken may be more help as he has a 773, my machines are the older style so i don't know just what buttons you have that i don't.

To enable you aux hyd on continuos flow (for backhoe use) press the white "varialble/maximum flow button twice. (up by the head lite switch) Then pull the finger trigger (not the thumb switches) on the front side of the right steering handle, once.
The top hook on my NH buckets QA plate, is too long to fit on my 773 because the bobtach lock handles interfere with it and will not let the bobtach lift high enough into the mount of the bucket. As a result the bottom of the bobtach will not move forward enough into the bucket and the lock handles can't be latched down. Just trim the qa plate on the hoe until your lock handles have room and the bottom of the bobtach can go forward into the qa plate fully.
As for a means of steadying the tilt cylinders while operating the hoe, Both NH and Deere offer a quick realease 3pt hitch top link for tractor 3pt hitches. They are penty strong and about the simplest to mount yourself. Also plan on using the hoe with the loader arms up a few inches so you have decent clearance under the bottom of the hoe to the ground, say 6" or so.
The old bobat 909 hoes only had 2" of gound clearance and they were a pita.

Seen as Bradco made the mount for NH they must have made it just like the NH qa plate. Which won't quite fit my bobcats, but the bobcat bucket will fit the NH loader.
I edited my post about activating the aux hyd flow as I had said the left steerig lever, but the right steering lever is the one you pull the trigger switch on. Sounds like your on the right path with the mount. Bobcat used such a heavy (strong) mount because it also holds the loader arms up a few inches as well as steady the dump (tilt) cylinders. So depending on your needs you may want to mod the hoe arms. Light one will work if you just steady the tilt cylinders, but if you use it to suspend the hoe better make them more heavy duty as the loader boom may end up pulling them dowm if the operators steps on the wrong foot pedal sometime.

Any speed will give a test, i found on my 743 with only 13 or so GPM i could run at 1/2 throttle and it would work more than fast enough for me. Its one of those things you really need to have a play and see where you are comfortable at. You can run it flat out but the controls may be a little too fast, even at lower speed you still have the same power, just slower response. Too much flow and you will generate more heat in the control block as the oil gets restricted, just play and find your sweet spot.

We just need to get use to the controls. It digs real well. It's just a matter of getting use to the controls. I made another post on the salvage thread about this.
