Bobcat Engine

Does anybody know if a 22 HP V-Twin Horizontal Shaft Engine from Harbor Frieght would ever work in a Bobcat 520 I have a kohler engine in it now I see other kinds of skidsteers had put them in but I just wondering if anybody had tried it in a 520 THANKS for any info

If you can fabricate it will fit where the Kohler engine is. I think the Kohler had a tapered shaft compared to HF being a normal one, so that may be the hardest part of it. I put one in my Gehl last year and it worked out well and runs good for me. Only issue found is it only puts out 2 amps of power for charging so had to add an alternator to run my lights but that wasn't to bad to do.

If there is anything I can offer info wise I will try to help. There is a link to the instruction/owners manual on the HF website. I did a lot of searching before I pulled the trigger myself. I was glad I did in the end.

I have 2 500 belt drive . 1 has a water cooled 27 briggs . the other has the original 24 kohler that is rattling . when it comes apart it will get a predator from harbor freight . I saw them on sale last summer for $ 599 .

bill7101 you never said what you put HF engine in One these days I will have take this old girl apart and give it my try I do not use it a lot but when I do it sure is nice to have Any way thanks guys I just wish I could of found some one with the same machine that has done it Like my biggest concern would be the matching up the motor to the pump

I had mine in a Gehl 3410, I know its not the same as what you have. I do know if you google skid steer repowering you can find a place that does a bunch of kits to almost any skid steer, if that helps any.

Did you install predator in 520?
