hello, I know this sounds stupid but I just need a little nudge... my bobcat has been leaking hydrolic oil from what appears to be on of the two hoses located to the right of the motor.. problem is I don't have a wrench to get in there to see if its just loose (looks like its leaking at nut) or if the line is bad.. I realized it was leaking about a 2 weeks ago and have used it very little since, but now it appears to gotten worse.. if I raise the bucket and leave it there it will slowly drop down, did this yesterday to use the bucket as a platform while working on my boat with the unit off the bucket gradually dropped.. is there a tool to get inside that little area to check the line?? or do I have to modify a couple wrenches?? thanks rob

this is the original poster again (thelastdaze) I forgot my old screen name and reregistered last march.. anyhow to add to the question,... should I also change the hydro fluid once I find the problem.?? I've owned the ss for 3 yrs and have only changed the engine oil, oil and fuel filters... thanks..

Without a picture I can't say for sure what kind of wrench you need but likely you'll ether need to remove whatever is in the way or use a some combination of crow foot or flare nut wrenches.
FRH120S, Wrench, Crowfoot, Flare Nut, 3/8, 6-Point

Crows foot
RXFS1214B, Wrench, Flare Nut, Double End, 3/8-7/16, 6-Point

Flare nut

You can typically access the hose connections to the drive motors by removing the cover on the side of the machine. I've always been able to get them loose with just a open end wrench, I'm thinking it takes a 1 1/4" wrench.

If you are not sure when the last time the hydraulic oil was changed, then yes, you likely should change it. Cheap insurance.
With respect to tightening your hose, I had to change one of the drive hoses on my machine last year. What I ended up using was 2 different wrench manufactures's open end wrenches (likely a Westward and a Gray), used alternately, to do the final tightening down at the motor end. This was after I had loosened the jam nut on one of the adjacent fittings to clock it out of the way for more room. If it takes more than what an open end wrench is capable of to tighten it to the point that it is leak free, chances are there is something wrong with the flare on either the fitting or the hose.
Hope this helps,
SR

Or ....the o'ring is bad on the fitting. There is an o'ring under the jam nut, and also check that jic fitting, for a couple years, bobcat used a jic fitting with a groove cut into it for a very thin o'ring, I know some guys just removed that o'ring and tightened the hose, but if you have this type, I would buy a new one.

Thanks for the info guys... One more thing, I noticed another thread where the owner replaced two lines and now his bucket wont work.. Is there a bleed screw anywhere?? also what kind of hydrofluid goes in these badboys..?? thanks .......................
