Bobcat 773 charging issue!

Hello everyone. Well I finally got my blower motor figured out and put back in. Works great! But now when I turn the key to the on position not with the motor running it gives a constant beep and the battery light comes on. It gives code 03-11. I can start the machine and let it idle and after about 5 mins the code goes away and the light turns off and it quits beeping. Drove it around parked it. Turned the key on and did the same thing! The battery is only a month old and the previous owner just replaced the alternator before I got it. It there a voltage regulator that could be out? Should I start with checking the battery voltage and alternator output? Not sure why the light would come on without the skidloader running? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!
 
I would check battery voltage both with the engine off and running. You should have 12.5 engine off and 13.5 or more with engine running. Is your blower fan running when the light comes on? Could be dropping the voltage down till the loader runs and charges it

Alright so last night I had the battery disconnected and it was a 12.6 volts. I then started the machine and at idle had 14.5 at the battery then it went to 14.6 then the light came on and it locked the machine out. At the alternator it is at 14.5 volts aswell.

I replaced the alternator with a brand new bobcat one this morning. It’s still doing the same thing. I moved it about 30 feet then it locked up again. Battery was new in August and it’s a bobcat battery 650 cca. Not sure what I should check now? Any ideas. Thanks

Have you looked up what the code actually is? I don’t have a list in front of me. It could be something controller related

Since you already tried a new alternator my manual says the next step is to start engine, run at full rpm and check batter voltage. If voltage greater than 18.0 volts repair or replace alternator, and if less than 18.0 volts then it could be a controller problem. Steve

At full rpm it sits at 14.6 volts. I can turn all of the accessories on and it stays at 14.6 or turn them all off and it stays at 14.6. I had another battery laying around and put that in there but it didn’t change anything. It will run off just battery voltage. I unplugged the alternator so I could get it back into the shop. One of my buddies said the green push botton in the cab could be shorting out and spiking voltage. That’s what he had to replaced on his 753. Any way to test it?

Also the new code is just 03-10 high voltage. I haven’t been getting the 03-11 anymore

That is the code for Batter Voltage High. For a 03-10 the check is for 16.0 volts or less. The test is the same as Batter Voltage Extremely High (03-11) and points to a controller problem if measured less than 16 volts.

It would be the main controller. On my 873G it is located in the left side panel. The manual doesn't show any further tests. If the voltage is measured less than 16.0 (03-10) or less than 18.0 (03-11) it is says to replace the controller. There's not an easy way to test another controller because they usually can't be returned. If you take it in they will probably have one to test with and wouldn't replace it unless it was bad.

Alright I called my local dealer they believe the problem could be in the wiring harness. I tried looking over the wiring harness but didn’t see anything out of order. I’m going to bring it in tomorrow so they can scan it and mess with it. I will let you guys know if they find out the problem. Thank you all for the help. Got the skid loader back on Friday. Ended up being the controller. Thanks for all the help everyone. Back in business!!
