Bobcat 753 wiring issue / no start

1993 bobcat 753 caught on fire years ago and my dads buddy poorly spliced the harness back together. I am finally going to tackle this and get it looking / functioning properly...


My main problem is that it cannot be started by just turning the key and going. This White with a black striped wire needs to have 12v before being able to start it. Connect it to a 12v source and it's fine, glow plugs go then I turn the key the rest of the way and it starts.. but I cannot for the life of me figure out where this wire was originally connected, l've been researching for hours and cannot figure it out.. the wiring diagram from bobcat says it goes to a fused switch power on one side then a fuel pump connect on the other, if I'm reading it properly.. I assume it goes to the switch power, but I don't know where that is or what it looks like.. any help is appreciated..

My thought would be to get the service manual or at least the wiring diagram and trace it by color. I just rewired my 642 and there is no way I would have attempted it without the wiring diagram...

I have the wiring diagram and service manual. It is the only white/black wire in the engine compartment, and it doesn't have another end, so it leads me to believe it sent directly to something. The wiring diagram doesn't seem to be too much help the way it's labeled.

The service manual has the wiring notes all the color codes..... I laminated these with my notes for the 642. You can see how valuable they could be for troubleshooting... Best of luck
