Bobcat 753 need parts!

Hi your forum has been much help in the past. I have a 1997 bobcat 753 # 512717298. The seat was probably an original. I am trying to fix it up a bit. When I took the seat apart the magnet collar disintegrated. I also lost the magnet collar alignment pin, and the threaded bushing is wasted. I would like to buy these parts but unfortunately my dealer doesn't have them (Bobcat of St. Louis). Could anyone tell me where I might be able to get these parts? I am trying to avoid the 300 price tag of a seat sensor delete. Thanks in advance, Tim.

Your dealer doesn't have a sensor? thats very odd, its a common part, worth about $$30.
Just what part fell to bits? was it the magnet or pickup? Most people by-pass the sensor, as the seat rots out and the snesor doesn''t work anymore. If you get a magnet and move it around the inner housing of the sensor, your BICS or BOSS light should come on, you can then glue it in place.

that seat sensor is most probally an obsolete part by now , you will probally have to upgrade it according to Bobcat , I have to go to Bobcat tommorrow and if I remember I will ask if it is still available ------maybe you can find someone that has already upgraded and left the sensor hanging under the seat pan disconnected and will give or sell it to you , I have thrown so many of them away , and every now and then I see one disconnected while having the cab tilted back , it is amazing that the machine is still going with the seat sensor connected as they were a nightmare , I would think that you could do something like take a seat bar sensor and wire it into the seat sensor wiring plug , tape it up and let it hang under the cab , how to by pass the seat sensor with wiring I have never figured that one out , it is a three wire set up using low voltage and a magnet

Thanks for all of your help guys. I glued a magnet in place and tapped a hole behind the seat to mount it on. Works great now! Thanks for all of the help

I have it in my mind that the traction lock override button lets you move the machine when you're not sitting in the seat, and the lap bar is not down. As in, sitting on the backhoe seat and you want to reposition the machine without getting in the Bobcat seat and lowering the lap bar. I thought on my machine, the traction lock override would not work if I were sitting in the seat. Again, I haven't checked this out for a few years, so I might have it wrong. If I am correct though, bypassing the seat switch so it's "on" all the time would then not let the traction lock override work. Anyone with more info out there? I'm referring to my 1995 751C. ---RC

I believe the traction lock overide unlocks the brake, but the seat bar must be down for the lift arms to be unlocked. You wouldn't notice that on your hoe, as you only want to move, not lift/tilt.

No I think the traction lock overide would still work, trying to remember as I had my 553 that way, but believe that is correct.
