I've had alot of problems with this machine over the past 2 years and this past weekend was no different. A little background on the machine...it sits at our camp and is used very little. At most, I may have put on 25-30 hours on the machine in the past couple years. I replaced the water pump (was overheating) a month or so ago, seemed to run well after the replacement...a radiator a couple months prior to that (leaking). I pulled the Bobtech off to replace the 1 1/4" pins as well as build up the attachment point 1/4" due to the bucket popping off during back blading (space between bottom of Bobtech and bucket). Went to start it this past weekend and noticed antifreeze leaking out of the muffler. Huh, that's not right. Try to light the fire again and nothing but more antifreeze out of the muffler. Pull the plugs and the two inside plugs are wet from antifreeze, not good! I then drained the coolant to determine if it would fire, the machine started and I let it run very briefly to extend the cyclinder to attach the Bobtech. Went to start it again after installing the cyclinder pin on the Bobtech and it would not fire...the starter was turning and turning and turning. Long and short, I'm at my wits end with this machine. What is my best option in regards to the engine, rebuild the current Ford or repower it with a new Vanguard? Or could the issue this time just be a head gasket (you can see a wet area just below the two inner firing cyclinders)?

I believe it runs a standard escort engine, the only difference is they added a govenor that you should be able to remove and put on the replacement engine. As you have coolant coming out the exhaust, you have a cracked head or blown head gasket (which you know already).
Running it when you know its bad, you may cause more damage if its allowed to hydraulic lock.

Haven't had the time to get back to work on the Bobcat. Quick question on the 632 is there a valve or such that releases the hydro's to allow the machine to be rolled onto a trailer? Maybe it's as simple as releasing the manual parking brake? Plans right now to get it home and pull the engine and go from there. When it's out it'll either be rebuilt (any advice for gasket kits/etc?) or a repower.

You can buy *tow valves* from the dealer, but i can imagine the price. The best way is brute force to drag it on a trailer or tilt tray truck to get it home to work on. That's what i have always done.

I found that if you dis-connect the parking brake and have someone to sit in the seat and hold the levers in the direction you want to go you can tow or winch them slowly. I had to do this on mine when it died out in a field and wouldn't start(fuel line broke off in tank) I winched it up on the trailer.

the 632 is just a mechanical brake pedal, so nothing to disconnect, just release it. I agree that the most popullar way to move a 'dead' machine is to drag it. if it does happen to roll a little that's a bonus.
