Why is there a difference in the rear door between the Bobcat 440 and 440B?

I own a 440 and have noticed the engine overheats when I run it for too long or if it is hot out. I noticed there are additional cutouts in the 440B rear door. So I'm thinking they are for better ventilation for the engine bay.

What do you guys think about this? I'm considering making my own cutouts on my 440 to match the 440B.

I think I will eventually. I was curious if this was a weak point of the 440's that got fixed with the 440B's.
The less ventilated rear door was typically fitted to the 443, the liquid cooled diesel version, vs the 440 / 440B which is the air cooled gasoline version.
The extra ventilations are necessary to get the needed airflow through the engine compartment required by the air cooled engine.
I never realized that the 440 never had the ventilated new door - I would definitely be opening up some holes in the rear door.

Thanks for shedding some light on that. I think I will come up with a way to mimic those cutouts. Probably with a template and a plasma for the top and for the bottom make a large cutout and weld in a new perforated panel.

Are there any other notable differences in the 440 vs 440B?

I believe there was a different Bobtach pin mechanism used on the 440, and maybe even early 440b's. The Bobtach was optional on these machines, many had rigidly attached buckets.
There are likely are more slight differences, but that is all that springs to mind.
