I'm looking to find an excavator attachment to fit a 371 bobcat. I've seen them on ebay but they're always being sold with a machine. Does anyone know if the rigid plate mounted excavator buckets work for digging holesfor trees, ponds, etc.?
From what Ken has said about the fixed hoe that attach's to the bobtach they are not a great idea if you plan on doing a lot of work. They put a lot of strain on the bobtach pins.
I see no problems if you are going to use it only for small jobs but if you plan on digging ponds it will be hard as you have to skid to dump the bucket (unless you go for a more expensive one that will swing side to side).
I haven't seen any small hoe attachments, only larger ones for 7 to 8 series machines (or the later equivalent size S or T machines)
