Any body have anything good or bad about a 89 742. It has a 4 cylinder Ford gas engine. appoximate value also. Thanks

The same internals as the 743, the 743 was/is a very strong machine that is easy to work on. The only difference is the ford petrol engine as opposed to the Kubota diesel the 743s run. I must admit that after using a 753 with a 2.2 litre engine as opposed to the 1.7 litre the 743 runs, you do notice the extra power. It still has the same pushing power, but you can't push it quite as fast if that makes any sense.
If the price is rite, grab it.

I have a 95 742B, which is probably the same except for the Isuzu (?) 4 cyl gas engine. I don't earn my living with it, but it's a good machine. Paid $5400 a couple years ago at an auction--had 2400 hours on it.

Its essentially the same, yout 742B will have 2 piece axles. The rest is essentially the same.
Not a bad price for so few hours on the clock.
