Can anyone tell me how to remove the heater/AC fans? It looks like it has to come out the bottom somewhere.

You have to remove the HVAC unit from the back of the cab to access the fan motor. There are 4 bolts that hold the unit in place. I did one recently and was able to replace the motor and fans without having to mess with disconnecting any A/C lines. A little tricky but do-able.

Thanks for the response. So far I have found 2 studs w/nuts holding the HVAC and some tiny screws @ the front edge. After removing those I still can't get the unit out. I don't know if there is some fasteners hidden in the insulation or not but something is still holding it pretty solid. The service manual says there are 8 bolts but is not clear to where located.

I'm pretty sure there are 4 of the 5/16 bolts, 1/2" head. They look like studs but are really bolts.

Thanks, you were absolutely right. When I got home last night I found the other 2 ( bolts) not studs and was able to get one of them out. The other one started turning all the way through and I could'nt get the nut off. I am assuming the head is something like a shouldered carriage bolt. I didn't see any way to get up to the head of the bolt. Anyhow I sprayed it down w/knocker loose and let it set over night and today. I believe I will be able to spin it off by this evening with my air ratchet and hopefully will have the thing out in a few minutes. Again thanks for your help as working on a BobCat is new to me. It is very helpful to hear from folks that has been there and done that.

The bolt is a square shouldered carriage bolt. If you can't loosen you may be able to slide the assembly to the side and the bolt will come out of the 'keyhole' that it's in

Thanks a bunch for all your help. I got the thing apart Saturday after grinding the nut off of the last bolt and prying the assembly down with a big screw driver. Heres one to watch for. Somehow in assembly of the interior, someone had ran a #10 screw from the inside down through the evaporator assembly. Any how I am waiting on a new heater/AC fan motor. I expect reassembly will go much smoother now that I understand how it goes.

The new fan motor came in and reassembly went pretty well. The fan runs ok and the AC unit seems to be ok. I am not familiar with this Bobcat at all but compared to the AC/Heat on my MF tractor it seems the air being blown into the cab for heat and air is awfull weak. Does anyone know if this is typical?

The fan usually blows pretty strong on high. Enough to kick up dust if it has settled in the unit. Is the intake filter clean? You did put the squirrel cages on properly, right? Maybe there is debris in the ducts, probably pop our the louvers near your elbows and check?

I got to thinking about this yesterday before I got home, Well s..., I put the fans on the motor right but I put the unit in backwards. That'll do it every time. Thanks!!
