hi all i have just purchased an 843 to do some work around my home and its seemed ok to start with but it has just started to have issues with the drive, its as though the drive is fighting its self the machine moves ok to start with but after a little while it struggles to move and make a noise like the drive is trying to over come a hand brake. i left it for a while and when i went back it moved ok for a while and then it started again. it lifts and tilts ok. any ideas please

Start with the simple parts, have you changed the filters?
How is the oil level?

Not tried anything yet as i dont want to add problems until i have a firm idea of what could be causing the problem. oil level is ok. i need to check today but i think the problem only occurs when the machine is put into high speed travel

High speed? i didn't think the 843 machines had two speed, how are you putting it into high speed?

Hi im pushing the levers forward to make it travel faster. i have spoken to my local service agent and had some advise that the machine is fitted with a parking brake. it looks like the brake might be poorly adjusted but is coming on when i travel at speed, going to check this out today. the person i bought it from told me the brake pedal was an auxiliary lever.

Ensure the brake is indeed off, it will wear out fast if it's engaged and you try and drive it.

Yes it was the brake. now adjusted and turned off. took the opertunity to take the wear out of the pedal linkages, like driving a different machine now.
