Had my fuel solenoid burn out about 6 months ago. Closing side coil burnt out, replaced and all was fine. Now solenoid will neither fully open or fully close. Checked voltage at pigtail, 6 volts. Powered solenoid with separate 12v source and solenoid operates fine. Is this a common probelem, bad connector, etc? Why would I drop 6 volts from circuit? Thanks for any help you can give.

Its not out of alignment? as you said it won't fully open or close. The coils are 12v, so both should have 12 at them when energized. The pull coil won't stay on, the hold coil stays on when the key is on.

Is the ball end pivot siezed up?

Everything is in alignment and moving freely. The problem seems to be the voltage, the solenoid does not want to operate on the 6 volts it is getting. Somewhere I am losing 6 volts. Thought maybe someone else might have had this problem and could save me from tearing into the wiring harness. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this unit? That would be very helpful.

I'd swap your relays over, you should have a few in the engine bay. You may have a bad contact not getting enough power to the solenoid.

I will check for relays in the engine bay. Did not know any were located there.

There should be some there, i haven't worked on a 773 but my 753G and 763 and any modern machine i have had, the relays were in the back near the air cleaner.

The relays and fuses on the G series are in the operator area, just behind your legs, 2 bolts holding the metal cover on. Try swapping relays around, or check fuses for corrosion?? causing voltage drop.
