Reading some of the answers other folks were getting on hydrostat problems. Good help here. This machine has an issue on the left side going ahead. Weak and jerky. Backing up it's about normal. I've checked all the linkage from the levers to the pumps and everything is tight! No slippage on the shaft going into the pump, like maybe it would seem to be. So what is the easiest way to tell where the problem is? Can a motor do that only going ahead and not backing up? Should I deadhead the motor? Or switch motors?
Thanks for any help

You can switch motor sides..if it follows ,it needs a rebuild. Also you can check the in-line filters (some have one on each side to drive motor. (The small ones not big twist on, but also check or change those too, one or two depending on machine. Mine did what you describe going forward....it was the drive motor.... O-Ring/gasket kit fixed it up!
If you don't have, get a set of caps/plugs for when you un-hook the hoses.

I have a 863f, it has two in-line filters and two screw on filters.
Fast check Bobcat website for your exact model and you can see schematic.
General 753 model shows two in-line filters fyi.. #43 ! If one gets clogged up it can give the same symptoms. But i'd be willing to bet it needs a rebuild. I did mine in one day and got the kit from LPS .
