My older model 751 has hydraulic boom up capability but will not tilt or lower the boom. This happened while I was using the auxiliary hydraulics with a hydraulic auger. The first symptom was the auger would not rotate left but it would rotate right’ I removed the auger and with no tools on the boom it would go up but not down. I suspect I have a failed solenoid but not sure where to start looking or how to test their function. Any assistance in trouble shooting this problem would be much appreciated!

I would start by looking at the auxiliary valve solenoid or maybe the valve itself is stuck.

I do believe you are right on about the auxiliary hydraulics and I did review the dra info offered at your provided link! The really strange thing was that I removed both matching solenoids on the top portion of my valve that I believe control my auxiliary hydraulics and one issue I found was the nut holding the solenoid closest to the main relief valve had the nut almost completely rusted away and along with that a portion of the valve st m had rusted. That baffles me since I was under the understanding that chromed parts would not normally rust. To add to that potential problem neither of those solenoids matched the Bobcat offered drawing part numbers. My solenoids have the number 38010043 on them and clearly written as well was 14.5 VDC. Research told me that some Bobcat engines used these solenoids but my engine is a Kubota engine, not matching the engine where these are typically found! I ordered two solenoids to replace the ones removed and hope that corrects my problem but I am skeptical.
If you have any additional input or suggestions those would be highly valued and appreciated!
The gist of this post is never purchase parts based on the offered Bobcat drawings or service manual without first inspecting the part removed! I was about to order a replacement would have been the incorrect one or at least not as built replacement part!
