I have a 743b that I purchased used that was not used for a few years. It was not used due to a bad motor. The problem I'm having is I can go straight and right turns with no problem but when I try to go left sometimes it does not want to go at all. If I move the control back and forth really fast I can get it to go left with full power and no problem but when I do this it starts to turn really fast. But If I move the control slow it does not want to go most times. I don't think I have a bad hyd motor due to when it does start to turn it has all the power in the world to go left. Does this sound like a shuttle valve problem? Could it be hanging up when the controls are moved slow and only move when the controls are moved really fast? or is there something else I could look into. Every other turn and movement direction is fine. Any help would be Great Thanks.

Go to this link http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=31fe914bdce0f590ab1eab3e9fa335ca2fe3e23dbbc2ef73 and download the hydrostatic section of the service manual. Look at the pages on the steering linkage. I think you'll find that there are some worn or sticking parts in the left linkage. Likely the rubber bushing.
All of the rest of the service and parts manuals are also at that link.
I'd bet that you need a travel motor seal kit , the oring is blown and completely gone , it takes time for the pressure to build up before it will move , and when it does it moves hard and fast like it slams into gear , if you rev it full throttle it probally responds a little better and at idle hardly or not at all
