Hello! I'm a first-time bobcat owner. I bought this old used one. He drove it onto my trailer so I know it works, but I can't get it started. So far I have put in new starter, battery, and ignition switch. I have also thoroughly cleaned the starter and battery terminals. I have checked continuity with the multimeter of the starter/battery cable. I made sure to wire EXACTLY how it shows in the diagram. Ignition light worked before but now that I have cleaned up the last owners wiring mess, I don't even get the ignition light nor the glow plugs "click sound". I got a wiring diagram from the bobcat website AND from the dealer based on my serial number......but I see stuff that is not in the diagram. What is NOT in the diagram......but is in my ignition wiring box area are: 1. Mystery harness with 2 yellow wire, 2 yellow/green wire, one white wire, one light blue. 2. Mystery harness with three brown wires. 3. Mystery harness with one brown wire. 3. Two black wires come in from the engine, they merge in the igntion box, then one goes to gauges and the other just terminates. 4. Mystery dark blue wire comes in from engine and just terminates.

is it a diesel. and does your oil light on the right hand side and temp gauge move when you turn the switch on. are you saying the motor wont turn over with the switch.

Ive got a 743 with a upgraded v2203 (51hp) from a salvaged OTR reefer unit. I had to rework the wiring too. Some wires had over heated and melted. Basically the previous owner shit canned everything and ran a 10 ga. wire from the bat. to the ign switch..back to the starter solenoid and glow solenoid mounted under the air filter. Simple but worked...NOTHING else thou worked...gages lts etc. Mine also has a pull cable for engine kill. You may have a shutoff solenoid on the injector pump. You can temp do the same to get it running and this will give you a starting point to trace the wiring. Everything starts at the switched bat. hot on the ign switch then goes to the fuses then to everything else back and forth from the dash to the engine. Main thing is the essential circuit to work the glow plugs, starter solenoid and or fuel cut off solenoid. You can trace back and expand from there. the wiring diagram was only about 70% accurate to my exact model but it gave me enuff info to muddle my way thru things. good luck.
