Hi, New to the forum, I have a 1989 743, gauges, lights and ignition switch not working. Black grounds on lights have no continuity to ground. Trying to trace back to a frame ground but do not see one for the cab harness. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Also look to the left of the seat two plugs are there on some of them that get unhooked when you pick the cage up and get beat up
Thank you Antfarmer, I pulled the connectors apart and the prong for the power conductor was corroded through and broke off. Spliced that and cleaned the connectors with a small wire brush and sprayed them with DeOxit. The lights now work as well as the ignition switch. My temp gauge works but not the volt gauge or fuel gauge, despite getting voltage. Considering aftermarket gauges but will check Bobcat price. Hourmeter had a broken tab, I goobered on a wire with solder and that now works. All the gauge lights are missing, I assume this is a generic item? BTW, on my machine, the gauge lights are the only thing the glass fuse is connected to.

The main ground on my 743 runs from the battery to right side of engine and then the ignition ground on the upper back left of engine to a stud straight to left of return water hose above the oil fill. Just check the black wire coming out wiring harness one left side of engine it is right behind the solenoids and see where it runs to. I will take a pic tomorrow and try to post.

Mine has two glass fuses ........make sure the two red lights light up when you turn the key on the one on the right is hydro pressue very important

Reed, thanks, I have those two grounds and they are good. I thought there might be a separate ground for the cab frame harness. My problems were in the connectors.
