So I have been digging all day with my s205, the things working great so far. A few little quarks I need to take care of, but overall its going great. The thing that ISNT going great is my 709 Attachment.
I went to go use it today and its all... screwy to say the least. I got it all hooked up correctly, I have used it before and everything was fine.
Basically, when I would move ANY control the boom would go down... and it was hitting the ground already so It just tried to go down more. NOTHING ELSE WORKS. I cannot move the boom up, cant move it side to side, the legs wont go down. it ONLY goes down. When I let go of all controls, there is no unusual sounds. Everything SOUNDS fine. But as soon as you push the controls the boom ONLY goes down.
Im thinking its got a bad control valve? Ive never had one of these valves out before, for that matter, I dont even know if they CAN come out.... Can somebody shed some light on the subject, and if it is just simply changing out a valve, what are the steps on doing it, and is there anywhere online to get it, or is it a dealer only item like everything else bobcat. lol
Thanks in advance!

and just to make it more clear, if you push ANY control, the boom goes down. and I tried moving the booms "up down" stick around but no matter what location it is in, it always gives this problem.

Are you absolutley sure the flow of oil is correct? if its giong backwards the controls will be weird like this. You may want to swap the couplers to confirm its not something so simple.
The controls can be replaced, but the cost would be insane to say the least.

Well... ive never personally seen this backhoe attachment work. Beforehand I have always borrowed my buddies. I'll try switching the hoses around. The previous owner of this said he used it with a 753. But that wouldnt be reverse quick attach flow or anything right? maybe my machine has reverse flow? lol. who knows. I'll give it a try first thing in the morning though and i'll let you know what happens.

I agree about the flow direction.
But for a test, after you select max flow on the white button, push the thumb switch on the rh joystick to the left and hold it there, then squeeze the front trigger switch. Your flow will now be locked on in the reverse direction. See if the hoe works now.

Oh, if you haven't seen it running, i'd suspect the couplers. The previous owner may have had the couplers the other way around on his machine. You never know!

Problem Solved! I just reversed the flow and BAM, it works. lol. The thing works great! I actually was suprised too, the pins are all tight! For only 3500 bucks, I think this 709 was a steal :)
Gonna have its first REAL job tommorow. ive got a big footing job to dig in a basement. Im already 9 feet deep in the basement which I have dug with my 205 and now I have to do some retaining wall footings on all sides of the basements. Footings 5 feet wide, but only 16 inches deep. They dont have to be deep cause the whole floor of the basement gets locked together with a cement slab.
The basement is 40 Feet long, by 25 wide, by 9 feet deep. Its QUITE a hole. Biggest Ive ever dug.

Thats a pretty good deal for a 709 backhoe attachment. I bought a 709 backhoe attachment with vertical stabalizers for $2500.00 now that was a steal.
