Hello! This is my first post. It appears that my 642B fuel system (Mitsubishi 4G32 engine) has been damaged by the use of gas containing ethanol. All parts from the fuel tank uptake hose and screen back to the carburetor have been recently replaced. I removed the top of the carburetor and found the fuel intake screen caked with fine red dirt/rust - much of it also got onto the needle's seat and even on the seat's threads - it appears that the last person to work on it installed the screen off-center, which twisted the screen and kept it from doing its job well. A mess. I cleaned everything up and put it all back together, only to find the fuel level overflowing in the float bowl when I tried to start the engine. I had noticed some VERY shallow scratches and pitting on the needle, possibly from contact with the debris-encrusted seat. So it is probably a good idea to replace the needle and seat - and these are no longer available from Bobcat. I have looked at a few dozen carb kit photos online for 4G32 and related engines, and I don't see any pictures that have a needle and seat that appear to match what I have. Does anyone have suggestions on how to find this part? I may even purchase a new/refurbished carburetor, if such a thing exists. Thanks in advance for your help!
