4XX Aux Hydraulics Linkage

Any owners of a 443, 453, 463, or even an S70: I am looking for someone to do me a favour.
I am currently looking to retrofit the OE aux hydraulic set-up onto my 440B (got my eye on a grapple bucket). So far, the component prices from the dealer are not looking as scary as I expected.
What I am looking for are some pictures of how the valve actuation linkage connects from the valve to the right side stick. I am trying to be proactive and have some visual aids available to assist assembly. I am sure that the setup would be very similar to any of the newer 4XX machines.
So if you happen to have the ROPS up on your machine in the near future, grab the camera and snap a few pictures in the area described.

You're in luck because I am in the process of changing the chaincase oil on my 453 and can take some pictures for you tomorrow. I just reconnected the aux cable to the steering arm before I came in for the day.

The cable end attaches to the right lever.

There's a bracket #16 bolted to the side of the frame that the cable housing is secured to with a u-bolt #14.

The cable is routed around the control valve and is a attached to a pivot #21/#22 that operates the spool.

The dealer got back to me today, the bill for the parts I need (from Bobcat) is $733 taxes in. I did a big swallow and then had him go ahead with the order. Really looking forward to that grapple bucket...

All done. I finished the install last night, after a good night of work on Monday.
I opted to go with the hard lines on the left boom arm, as room was tight and hoses did not route well. But from the hard lines on the boom to the control valve, the hoses worked nicely.
I had thought that pulling the control valve to put in the third spool was going to be a bear, but it ended up not being too bad.
Probably the worst part of the job was getting the control cable routed and adjusted just right. I ended up routing it back under the right hydro pump before looping back forward. Kind of time consuming, since everything is packed in there like sardines and there is not a whole lot of room for swinging wrenches.
One thing I did notice after I had it done is that when actuating the right stick, it seems to wack you right in the calf when you move it towards the left. Did Bobcat change the design of the stick on later models for for more leg clearance? I guess this may be something that I will need to get used to.

There are a couple of serial number breaks for the 440 machines. Need at least the first six digits of the serial number to get the right parts list. And since this forum doesn't have a way to upload pdf files I'll need a email address to send it to.

I have the literature that I used when I upgraded mine. Put an e-mail address in your profile, and I will e-mail them to you. It has a full breakdown of the parts involved.
As far as cost goes, I am in Canada, so it cost me about $800 to do the conversion at the time. I did not use the original hydraulic lines that run from the control to the lines on the loader arm; I used 3/8" hydraulic hose. It was way easier to install and kept the cost down. I did use the lines that run down the loader arm to the QD's, as hose would not route nicely and it gives a nice clean finish.
With respect to a Bobtach upgrade, look for a post that I just put up in the Attachment section. I just made an adapter that converts the old pre-463 style bobtach to the latest Bobcat mini style Bobtach (i.e. S70, MT-52/55, etc).
Repowering a 440b is pretty straight forward, the biggest cost is the engine. The Chinese Honda (Launtop) that I repowered mine with set me back about $800. Carroll Stream offers a 22hp air-cooled V-twin diesel that looks interesting, it goes for about $1700.
Another source of inspiration is the Small Engine Warehouse. At the time I repowered mine they were offering kits to fit a 24hp Honda GX670, which was why I went with the engine I did. I think that they have now moved on to Briggs or Kohler V-twins with their latest kits.
The only additions that I made after repowering was to add an electric fuel pump (makes for easier starting) and an external 55A one-wire alternator for improved charging / operation of work lights.

I found your post about modifying the Bobtach to a universal adapter (Thomas T85) style... Are you referring to the same post or a different one?

Yes, the post that you found is the one that I was refering to. The part that made the original adapter fit a T85 was bolt on, and not used at all. I welded the features to fit it to my 440b directly to the Bobtach assembly.
