Hello, Have a 440, mid 80's, sn 5028M11xxx. I would like to know who is the manufacturer of the variable-displacement pumps and fixed displacement motors. The manufacturer's model numbers would also be helpful. Also, rebuilt the ignition on the Kohler engine and used a Transdenser II with new coil and it works very well. Machine had been sitting for years. Flushed the motor several times with diesel fuel (not running of course), then flushed it again twice with cheap motor oil (right, cheap?), and then finish fill with Mobil I. Hydraulics also wet so I removed the lift and tilt cylinders to replace the seals .... removing the caps is another story .... alum. caps with steel cylinders. Shorted the cylinder hoses, shorted and removed the filter block for cleaning, shorted the temp/ oil cooling radiator circuit and took the radiator with hoses out for cleaning, figured out the supply-side for the pumps and fed the system directly from a container of fresh oil. Dumped-out what came back into the oil reservoir. Seemed to clean-out the system well.
