I have a 218 I bought from my stepfather recently, he bought at auction last year. We have never used the security lock on the machine but somehow I locked the eic display when I got out of the machine last. Problem is the machine must have had an owner code already programmed because now I can't unlock it. I have been on the phone with new Holland at least 10xs in the last week. They have referred me to multiple dealers all of which have said they don't know how to or can't help. Lastly new Holland said I would have to have a technician from my local dealer come out to unlock with a laptop. My "local" dealer, referred by new Holland support, told me they are not a New Holland dealer. Go figure. The closest dealer is hours away and it would be cheaper to buy a new eic board then to get them here. WTF!!! Is there anyone who knows a dealer that can help or possibly a master code for the 218?

The reason NH will not help you is because of liability issues. There is a master code that your dealer can simply obtain to unlock your machine and it does not take the laptop to do it. Getting a different instrument panel will solve that problem but create another. There is no software in the new panels and must be downloaded into the new panel from the laptop. Tell your dealer to look on Assist. The procedure is simple and they do not need to be a skid loader dealer to it. If nothing else call you local Case dealer, I would think the procedure and master code would be the same but I am not sure.

Thanks for the reply. I do understand New Hs liability in a situation like this but I can provide proof of purchase and show it is mine. Im glad they dont just give out codes to anyone that asks but they dont even know they can get a code. I did think of calling case maybe they have some people that actually know the machines. I just dont understand how these service departments at dealers cant figure this out or dont have more experience with this sort of issue, its not new technology. NH and almost every dealer have said there is no way to get a master code

Do you have a operators manual? If it tells you how to enter the unlock code try 53, it may or may not work.
