1. I just bought this BobCat S185, There is no fluid showing in Hydraulic gauge, I added 3 gallons still no change machine seems to be working fine...What should I do? 2. Cann I remove the Hydraulic gauge on the side? Your guys help would be much appreciated!!!

that unit has the float ball in the sight glass does it not ? Are you sure it's not over-full / float at the top of the glass ? Seems like you added a lot for the unit to still be operating before the add.

Yes, the float is at the bottom of glass, there is no fluid visible in glass. Before I added 3 gallons BobCat was working fine (just showing a empty glass), It is working fine after the 3 gallons too. Should I remove the glass and ball? It has like, a inch nut around it. Thanks...I appreciate

if you can't see the oil in the g;lass and the bead is on the bottom then it would be useless to remove the glass unless you want to stick something in there and see just how low it is ------------The machine will still operate about 4.5 gallons low of oil , it might not acceive the max boom up , when it quits operating it is a five gallon can low , the sight glass system is bogus , the range in the glass is about 2 quarts , so you don't really know how low it is till you fill it , and it is hard to fill it and check the glass at the same time by your self , and it is very easy to over fill , it has been like that for a while , you would think they could dream up a better system , like keep the glass for quick reference but add a dip stick ---------------wolfman jack was good listening back when , full moon this week coming , have fun

our V518 has a tall, metered sight glass but is useless also due to it being clouded over. Bet it was nice when new though.

When you get the level right, if it lowers after operating it, you could be loosing oil into the chaincase. New seals are required if this is happening.
Just watch the oil level.
