2003 bobcat 553 auxiliary hydraulic lock out?

I have a bobcat 553 and just bought the backhoe attachment 905b when I attached the backhoe and move the right shift lever to the left works as it supposed to
when I move it to the right and put it into the the detent backhoe locks up and nothing moves

Question one
Does the flow of the hydraulic fluid reverse between the right and left

I'm thinking I just might have the backhoe couplers backwards

Yes, the auxiliary flow changes direction.
