Having a problem with the up and down function. Sometimes the hand control on the up and down control will lock up when going down wide open. Found that the spool in the control valve is going back to far and then takes a tap on the linkage to pop it back out. Any thoughts to what may be causing the problem ? Thanks

Does it get stuck when you push the arms too far down?
It's possible the issue is the detent balls have worn and are getting stuck. You need to remove the cap on the back of the control block on the lift section. There sill be some sort of detent assembly here to lock float in. I'd like to think it was this easy, new balls, spring or housing may be needed to fix it.

Sounds like it's the same as my 1845c. There are 4 positions on the left handle. Up is up and automatically returns to neutral when you let go. Neutral is in the middle. Down is down and automatically returns to neutral. If you push down hard, it will click one more position and stay locked there. This is the boom float position. It allows your boom to float up and down by itself. Useful for grading/smoothing out ground or who know? It's perfectly normal and nothing is broken. It's suppose to act that way. Just pull up hard and it will pop out and back to normal. Freaked me out the first time it happen to me, cause nobody ever told me about it.

My 1840 had a sticking control also. If I remember right it was the safety on the laptop bar. When the lap bar for that side was lowered it wasn't fully releasing the handle and it would stick or was notchy. I used a zip tie to fully disengage it and it ran smooth after that but the parking brake didn't work after that.
