1996 Bobcat Peugeot travel

The engine has been removed and totally rebuilt. Now for some reason the machine travels faster in reverse then forward. Would there be something that was done wrong or needs adjusting? Needs help from you experts, thanks.
 
It's possible the steering linkages were not adjusted just rite. With the cab up, you can see two bars that are two pieces with 2 bolts in each. If you loosen them and move them forward or backard it will adjust how far the steering levers can move.
Not a great description, sorry but when you see it, you'll understand.
If the linkages are worn it may allow the steering levers to bottom out on the steel plate that they go through with the boot.
