Thanks for the reply. Well then I may have messed up big then. I went an looked at it and it seemed in pretty good shape. Looks wise I didn't think twice when the ad said '89. Here is the link for the unit: http://desmoines.craigslist.org/grd/676983544.html It seems to run good so I gave $4k for it. From eBay anything that runs seems to bring $3k. And thats for 30 year old skid loaders. An 1816B's are bringing $3k. I called a CASE-IH dealer that had one and they said they had sold one for $4250. Couple of questions. When running uphill at full speed the engine bogs down. Is this normal for a 3000 lbs 19hP machine? Seems reasonable, but I have never run one. Thanks ChrisI am no historian on Bobcat production dates , but have been working on them for a long time and if it is a Clark I don't think '89 is far enough back to be a Clark, any way , I think depending on condition $1,000 to $2,500 max
Here's the serial number if that helps someone identify the age of this machine. s/n 4994-M-12496Thanks for the reply. Well then I may have messed up big then. Its normal to bog down up a hill, ease off the steering levers a bit and it should be good. I am assuming its hydrostatic drive? Here's the serial number if that helps someone identify the age of this machine. s/n 4994-M-12496
Thanks. That make me feel better. I figured it has to bog some because my 18hp 500 lb lawn tractor slows some. So a 3k lb 19hp skid has to. I took off a couple hyd hose to have remade and they had what looked like a date code. It was '78. So I would assume the machine is a '78/'79. Live and learn I guess. I would like to degrease the engine compartment after I fix the leaking hoses. How should I do that and with what? Thanks guys. My 743 with 36hp bogs down a little going up hills.

email your serial number to Bobcat and they will tell you what year the machine was manufactured. Here's the serial number if that helps someone identify the age of this machine. s/n 4994-M-1249
