I can not find a source to buy rings,bearings and gaskets for a rebuild on my gas TM20 motor. It is a 3 cylinder Teledyne/Continetal gas motor 44HP my 1835C is a 1990 model with only 1400 hours but is burning oil, it does not smoke but consumes oil about 1 qt every 2 hours of operation, Does anybody know a source for these parts other then a Case dealer.

Are you sure it is not leaking somewhere? That amount of oil usage should make a nice smoke plume from the exhaust. None of it is going into the cooling system is it? Check the oil filter, I have seen more loose oil filters in the past few years than ever before.
Definity check the engine over good for oil leaks. If it is burning that much oil it should be smokin and fouling the plugs after awhile. Ckeck the dipstick tube were it goes into the block, they are good about coming loose and leaking and it is low enough on the block it is hard to see.
Thanks for the reply guys but I have gone through everything because when I first got it 2 weeks ago it had fresh oil running down the whole front of the motor so I took the valve cover off and found the front part of the gasket had sucked in and left a gap for oil to pour out and from the build up of oil on the front of the motor this had been going on for a long time. I clean the motor put a new valve cover gasket on, changed oil and filter and re sealed the oil dipstick tube to the block and installed new sparkplugs, the old ones looked like the engine was running too rich, sootie, but not oilly. So I thought I solved the oil use problem--wrong! after 2 hours of use and no fresh oil running down the motor anymore, I was down a quart of oil. Put the quart in today and moved snow for 2 more hours and down again another quart of oil. Oil is no longer running down any part of the engine or in the engine bay. I will do a compression check on it sometime next week to see if it is rings or valve stem seals or both. Do not want to buy a rebuild kit from the case dealer, because they quoted me $485.00 just for a new waterpump or $289 for a waterpump rebuild kit that is only a couple of seals and a bearing or about $9 dollars worth of parts. I refuse to get ripped off if I can help it. So if anybody here on this forum has rebuilt their Case TM20 gas engine I need to fine the source of their parts. I realize you have probably rebuilt the engine by now since it has been 14 months since you posted this. But... just for future info. I have a full set of .25mm oversize piston and rings for sale. Also... this is the only place I have heard positive things about. They have good pricing on Continental parts. Contact info... I have not got around to rebuilding my TM20 gas engine yet, been using it for snow removal at my shed, email me have you have and a price and will see if its in the budget this year-lol.50 oversize, not .25.... Sorry!

If your still loking for parts i just did a compleat overhaul on a TMD20. i also went to jon at CIP there great people to deal with, highly recommended. some of the things i wouldent buy from them are valves, valve seals and springs your much better off at a good maching shop.I will give that a try when it warms up here in Minnesota, my shed is not heated and working without gloves inorder to get your hand through that center drive opening would not be any fun. Thanks again for this information.

The TM 27 and TMD 27 4 cylinder is a popular forklift / welder engine. According to the Wiscon web site, 70 % of all parts interchange between the diesel and gas. The TM 20 and TMD 20 are just the 3 cylinder version so many parts will interchange with the 4. There was also supposed to be a TM 13 2 cylinder but I can find any info. There is a Canadian Wiscon dealer that has the part # listed, not sure if I still have the link. Something to check, some of these motors have a PCV valve ( or atleast a restriction in a vacuum line ) like a car engine. If the vacuum hose has been moved to the wrong spot or the restriction removed, oil can be drawn from the crankcase into the intake manifold. The forklift motor I have has a vented oil fill cap, a line to the air filter and a line to manifold vacuum. Somewhere in the vacuum line there has to be a PCV valve or restiction, I'll check next time out. BTW, I just bought a 1835C with a bad motor TMD 20 and am installing a TM 27 from a forklift.
