1.6 Ford firing order

Most 4 cylinders have the firing order 1-3-4-2. However, some older Ford engines use 1-2-4-3; and from what I have read, the Kent engine (which is in you 742) is one of them. Number 1 cylinder is on the water pump end of the engine, number 4 is at the bell housing end. HTH, SR

This thread is ancient but it just saved me since I pulled all the plug wires off the distributor(like an idiot) without marking them. This worked for my early 70's bobcat 632 ford 1.6l engine with a bosch distributor, the one with the brown caps and condenser coil mounted on the outside.
