Hello, i have a Bobcat 873 (serial number 514151199) that will not move. The loader arms still work but i cant get the machine to move. My first thought was the parking brake solenoid was stuck or broken but this is a 2 speed model and it doesnt have a brake solenoid. What should i be checking? Worth tearing open the 2 speed valve or should i check something else first? Does anyone have a PDF of a service manaul for this serial number range they could send me?

My 873 locks everything out until you punch the yellow button traction lock. Upper left console. If you move seat lap bar up, it all locks again. Maybe that lap bar sensor is toast? Maybe the yellow traction lock button is toast. Maybe a wire among both came loose, cut, mice chew, etc.

This walk through is pretty detailed it might at least help you to know where to start looking

Well, I figured out what the problem is. One of the rear axle sprockets has sheared off and is lodged in the chains causing them to lock up.

So sorry to hear. I had that happen on my 2001 873 in 2011. The main sprocket broke off one of the rear axles. The mechanic at Bobcat dealer said it was only the second time in 20+ years of working on bobcats that he had seen that. Very expensive repair. The machine was used quite a bit (better than 1/2 the time) with metal tracks over tires on steep rocky and wooded terrain. When the tires would get worn down and spin in tracks we would tighten the tracks probably more then they should have been. We figured a combination of this and just having the tracks on probably put extra stress on the sprocket. I replaced both rear sprockets and chains while the machine was torn apart. The machine had about 1800 hrs. at the time and now has 3400 hrs. and no sign of problems. I haven't run the tracks near as much since then only when in tough environments. The old 873 has gone into retirement with me so it isn't used as hard anymore.

You could just try and unhook the rear chains and have a 2 wheel drive machine. That was Bobcats solution when over the tire tracks were first introduced in the 90's. They had issues erupting back then with too much stress on the chains and sprockets. So the solution was to un-hook the front drive chains. Our machines back then had this done from the dealership when we traded in yearly.

Ive already got the sprocket pulled up and out of the way now. Found a guy locally who has a couple of salvage skid steers and he's going to sell me a sprocket and chain for $100. I'm going to go ahead and do all 4 wheel bearings while I have everything apart too. I bought the machine used with this problem so I knew going Into it there would be some repairs needed. Time to get to work!
