New Holland LS170 and LS180 owners.

I have had a ls170 for a year now, and am rather pleased with it. it has over the tire rubber tracks. have a smooth bucket, a rock bucket, and a set of forks for it. I still have an old hydramac. love the old oil leak as well but had it for 16 years. the ls170 appears to have less torque than...

1975 Hydra Mac Model 5 mini mac skid steer

I run atf in my machine. but I run clear oil in the final gear cases that way I can tell where my oil leaks are from. red is hydraullics. clear is gearboxes.

    Hydra mac 20c

I have a 20c with a ford diesel. the lock out only works when you are out of the seat. as soon as you sit down the lever unlocks the machine. if you move the lever it will creep the machine Just start it with your hand on the lever, and adjust it if you feel it dragging the starter. No big deal...

    RPM's

I would assume that the engine is only going to last soo many strokes. the faster you rev it the sooner they are used up. I always use just enough rpm to provide the required hp or spped to do what I need to do. I frequently idle it down when doing some real fine work. Lifting something with a...

    What's it worth??

How many cylinder is the belarus engine? Is it a twin? I know belarus was selling twin engines cheap. someone probaly installed it themselves.

Using truck tires on small skid loader

try to find the coarsest tires you can find. trailmark wintermarks would not be a bad choice. keep the pressures high to minimize flex. I think you can still get lt215/75r/15 but you could always use 235/75r/15.

    skipping?

I recently purchased a ls170 that apears to be in very nice condition. It has over the tire solideal tracks. the tires are rather bald underneath. first time trying it out pushing snow and trying to climb a snowbank.. I noticed a skipping. I assumed that the chain on the right hand side needed...

    How to remove 5635 starter

got it out this mornign after the sheils was removed it was easier to see what to do. Looks like a fresh new bosch, that is toast already. better the starter toasted than the engine.

    2002 New Holland Ls 160

a bent rod would make the compression lower as it changes the compression ratio. It would have alot more volume at tdc. A bent valve would be caused by a hydraulic lock. maybe antifreeze, maybe diesel maybe water.. could be any liquid. a leaking injector could have caused it. I see it on sleds...

    How to remove 5635 starter

We have a gehl 5635 skidsteer at the school I teach at. just before christmas the janitor was pushing some snow and came and parked it in my shop. Now it appears as if the starter or engine is stuck. I saw when he parked it so nothing weird happened. just drove it in and shut it down. The...

    Hydra Mac 8A

I know this is old but i had similar problems with an onan in my john deere 318. It turned out to be the valve clearance. it would start cold and run great.. when the valves heated up they lost the clearance and would allow it to pop and fart and backfire. I could only get about ten minutes out...

Synthetic oil a must with Turbos

I run 0w40 in my deutz aircooled holder.. much easier to start than the 15w40. Alot of guys up here in the cold belt run it in tractors some all year but alot for the winter. I also agree that the turbo spinning in transport is a bunch of b.s. not saying it cannot happen.. but the chance that...

    hydramac final drive oil

Well I ended up putting 68 weight oil into the final drives.. If the atf lasted for the last 15 years I am sure that the 68 will do fine.. My local walmart was sold out of 80w90 in the 20l pail. at least this way when I have an oil leak and it is not red, I know where it is coming from.

    winter tires

chev or dondge rims are 8 on 6.5" so measure the distance on the studs centre to centre. that way you could get a set of wheels with studded tires.. 265/75r16 in a ten ply should be a good choice. make sure the offset is good. I am guessing your bolt pattern is larger.
