    642B Blown Motor Question

The block is the same, just a larger bore on the 4G37. The heads are different though, so the intake manifold, distributor, and exhaust manifold probably won't match. Go to www.car-part.com and find an early 80's 1.6L g32b colt engine. For around $300 you can get a complete engine including...

    642B Blown Motor Question

The rods are the same in a 4g32 g32b and 4g37. The only differences I found, and I bought the wrong one at first, is that the end of the rod on the piston side is square on some rods as opposed to round which it should be. The forging # on the rod should be G3. I bought a B&P Reconditioned rod...

    642B Blown Motor Question

As I posted in another thread about the 642b 4g32 Mitsubishi engine, you can buy a crank kit from Autozone for $150 which includes bearings. The rods can be purchased on Ebay for about $40 each. That's what I did on my 4g32 and all is good now.

    Mitsubishi 4g32 spun rod bearing

It did work. The kit is Part #13860 from Autozone. It's used in the early to mid 80's 1.6L Dodge Colts and also late 80's and early 90's 1.8L Mitsubishi Eclipse.

    743 universal joint

    The u-joints for a 642B are Precision U-Joint 994 (PRE-994) and Precision U-Joint 952 (PRE-952). I bought mine from Woody's Auto Supply online. They're about $45 each. I think the 743 uses the same U-joints.

    Mitsubishi 4g32 spun rod bearing

Thanks for the help. After much research and spending alot of time on some Mitsubishi boards, it looks like a crank from a 4g37 out of a 93 Mitsubishi Eclipse is a direct drop in for the 4G32 engine in the Bobcat. The 4G37 is the same block as the 4G32 with a larger bore. All of the Dodge Colts...

    Mitsubishi 4g32 spun rod bearing

Hi, I have the engine from my Bobcat 642B on a stand right now and have the oil pan off. The back rod bearing is completely gone. The crankshaft looks like it could be turned, there doesn't appear to be any deep scratches. My question is: should I have the whole engine rebuilt (this will cost...

    Hydraulic Fluid in engine bay

Tazza, I have the service manual but it doesn't show a breakdown of the hydrostatic pumps. It says "see the component repair manual for hydrostatic pump for disassembly and assembly procedure". Is there such a manual? I haven't been able to locate it. Do you have a repair manual for the...

    Hydraulic Fluid in engine bay

Hi, I've pulled the engine on my Bobcat 642B to replace the U-joints. There is alot of oil/hydraulic fluid that is covering the engine bay. I don't know how long it's been accumulating as I've just purchased the Bobcat. It's a black sludge/film that covers the whole engine bay. Is there a seal...

    Bobcat 642b engine noise

Hi, I have a Bobcat 642B project with the Mitsubishi 4g32 1.6L engine. It's making a metal on metal knocking sound and was told it needed u-joints when I bought it. To me it almost sounds like a broken rod bearing. Can anyone tell me what worn or broken u-joints sound like when the engine is...

    Bobcat 642B Mikuni-Solex Carb

Hi, I have a 91 Bobcat 642b with a Mitsubishi 4g32 Gas engine with a Mikuni-Solex carb. Does anyone know what car I can cross reference so I can purchase a carb rebuild kit at Napa or Autozone?(some car must of run the same carb) Does anyone know the model #/part# of the Solex carb that was used...
