743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

Thanks for the help. Parts are being ordered today. It was obscene, the wear the left side bearing(s) had. Outter virtually fell out once placed on the press. I assume it had something to do with the chain that had broken and gotten wedged between the rear sprocket and the bottom of the...

743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

Pardon the resurrection. I've finally gotten a chance to tear into the problem. I believe 7lbssmallie was on the right track. I've removed the inspection plate and drained the fluid. Planning on removing the carrier assemblies tonight. Still haven't found my manual but will be moving again and...

743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

Carrier shaft end play sounds logical. I did a quick search and couldn't find a procedure to check it. Does it require removing the plate on top of the chain case? Got tolerances/specs? I guess replacing the bearing will be the remedy. Jeez I miss my book. It's just seems odd both sides go at...

743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

The contact is taking place on the chain case side. I'm really in the dark without a manual but you guys are really turning the lights on especially with the terminology. "Dog bone" I never would have guessed that but it makes perfect sense.

743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

Thanks Tazza, The wear on the seal looks more like grinding and its not on the rubber part as if the shaft is out of center. It's on the metal perpendicular to the shaft as if there is too much end play and something inside on the shaft is wearing on the metal portion of the seal. Metal on...

743b grinding chain case to drive Mtr seal

I moved about a year ago and cant find my repair manual to get an idea of what the H is goin on inside this machine. I replaced the drive chains and bearings a while back. Then, eventually, the seal(s) behind the drive motor started leaking and overflowing the chain case with hydro fluid. After...

    743b hydrostatic seal leak/rebuild

Oh yeah thx tazza. I wa hoping you would chime in. I talked to my dad about it and he said the guide leaking from around the shaft should be ok because I wasn't accounting for the "sleeve" that goes on the shaft. I'll check the other points you mentioned and scratch my head some more.

    743b hydrostatic seal leak/rebuild

Thanks7lb, it's not the drive motor mounted, outside of chain case, that turns the wheels. The fluid it actually coming out on top of the middle chain case inspection plate. I did concider tazzas chain case theory because I replaced the chains bearings and seals and a drive motor. It is still...

After years of gaining info/incite from this site, my current problem has led me to registering and becoming more or a part of the group so first of all I would like to thank the community for all the help that I have received in the past. Now to business, I was leaking large amounts of fluid...
