742B squirrel fan and timing covers

I deleted the fanwheel and shroud junk and fabbed a puller fan on the outside of the machine using jeep cherokee fan. It worked fine. Ford kent powered 1.6L 742b. Im here researching repowers myself and looking for pics of the fanwheel and pump joint because i didnt take any pics when i did it

    Ford Gas bobcat engine interchange?

On the 742 gas powered bobcats with 1.6L ford "kent" engines... any have an idea if a ford ranger motor could work? I have no issue building motor mounts, mostly wondering if the flywheel coupling would be the same.

    2005 john deere 250,

If there is a removeable panel under your feet, pop it out and look for the hydraulic control valve for the loader. See if there are two little solenoids that thread in as spool blockers so that you cannot move the boom or curl until whatever logic controller is happy that you are strapped in...

If you have a ford 1.6 gasser read this

Another thing i wish i did sooner, was deleting the hoof governor. It worked terrible and leaked like crazy until it exploded. The price is outrageous so i deleted it entirely by putting a lawnmower idler pulley in its place to tension the water pump. Then i made up a mount and a rocker linkage...

If you have a ford 1.6 gasser read this

It has taken me a long time to beat the ford 1.6L gas ignition woes. Let me save you some trouble. I had 2 machines both with shot distributor shaft bushings that ate up points in an hour. I could never find a reman or even anyone who would touch it or sell me the bushings to reman it myself and...

    bobcat 643 lifting problems

Raise cab. Find main valve block and remove the relief, its on the top front where the control rods attach to spool stubs on a 743. Like 27mm socket i think? Remove it, watch for an o ring to be left inside the cavity. Clamp valve in vice, unscrew the cap, pull out spring and shims and pintle...

Need help with a Bobcat 642 steam cleaning question

Its a pain. Do a quick paintjob while youre in there. It makes future leaks easy to spot and way ups the resale. Also cleans faster next time.

    741 Hydrostatic troubleshooting / repair

The old aluminum manifold block machines have a lot of springs and poppets to cause trouble with charge pressure. Operating at low charge will eat up a pump. They shoulda had OEM hyd gauges.

    Bobcat 722-Ford 1.6L-Zenith Carb Question

Mine starts without a functional choke at all, down to about 10f. I crank the throttle from WOT to closed and itll catch somewhere in between.

    Diesel in engine oil

Mechanical injection pumps use a plunger and barrel array in a common galley pressurized by the lift pump. O-rings keep the fuel oil from getting into the lube oil that is pumped in to lubricate the iniection pump cam and roller, bearings etc. If the O rings fail itll end up draining back to the...

bobcat 751 F series tilt hyd issue

Bobcat 742 no charge pressure to hydrostatic pump

Ive been dealing with exactly this issue on a basket case 742 for a year now. prior owners and their hodgepodge. Cant get over 40psi charge pressure. Refurbed the charge pump, reseated all valves, bought new oem springs at quite the ob$olete premium. Im gonna try shimming the "non functional"...

    gehl 2600 hydraulic issue

Im not at all familiar with your gehls setup. Im picturing a belt coupled to the entire pump drive.. Meaning 3 pumps in tandem .. Two high pressure steer pumps and a gear or vane pump at the end that probably provides loader fluid and charge pressure for the drive pumps. A loose drive belt would...

    grapple hydraulic pressure problem

You can control speed in each direction with just one valve in one work hose if its a needle valve. Some hydraulic flow controls restrict one way and bypass the other way. You need to see the symbol to make sure its going to have two way control and not just one.
