    410 lost Boom control raise/lower

Got boom raised today, pulled 2 hose per cylinder and let fluid drain out as I raised the boom via a come-along floor Jack and a combo of about a dozen 2x4s ughhhhh! Took 4 hours this way, think I'll be buying an electric hoist real soon! Gotta wonder if just removing the boom would have been...

    410 lost Boom control raise/lower

Hey all my 410 has lost control to boom hand control, I "think" it may be a mechanical linkage problem. As hand control just flops around. Although i can still drive the machine normally, no lift or lower function of any kind. I pulled the inspection plate sitting directly behind drivers calves...

    Favorite grease?

Find a local Schaeffers dealer for your grease and never look back. I love the 238 Ultra Supreme, it has extra tackifier added. Lasts and lasts on my semi truck 5th wheel plate. I use it in my skid steer too. I won't touch the tractor supply, auto parts stores brands anymore...

Frame Assy (Coupling System) Replacement 404599A5

bushings on dump circuit are shot. The rods have bushings, frame assembly side does not. Shop is saying 50/50 chance that bushing replacement on Rod would be successful anyways. Shop just wants to replace entire Frame Assembly which costs around $1500. Not including cost of rebuilding dump Rod...

    410 hydraulics leaking down

Will try this if and when I ever get machine back from stealership. I finally broke down and took it there after a hydraulic line sprung a leak. But now I got bigger fish to fry. New post time... Ughhhhh!!!

    410 hydraulics leaking down

The boom itself will only leak down a few inches overnight, but the bucket itself requires constant adjustment. When you say spool is that the same as saying Control Valve? Sorry, im very new to owning a skid steer and am learning as fast as I can. If that is the same i hope there's a rebuild...

    410 hydraulics leaking down

    410 hydraulics leaking down

Parking the machine overnight (no bucket) i will find the hydro attatch plate flat on the floor in the morning. The boom will leak down too a little but not half as bad as the dump. The bucket leaks down so bad now, that I dare not hold a full bucket overhead for more than a few seconds. What...

410 needs new bucket and boom pins / bushings

Thanks for all replys. I've got a ball jojnt press from harbor freight I am going to try when I get a chance. Would be awesome if an $80 tool will take care of this. The old pins are only slightly worn, the bushings must just be horribly wallered out at this point. Makes me wonder if pins have...

410 needs new bucket and boom pins / bushings

Need some advice on removing the bushings. Pins seem simple enough, but the bushings have me at a loss. Can I cut them out? Or do I need to push them out or what? Also, is there any such thing as an oversized pin? Asked the parts dealer guy, and he looked at me like I was from outter space lol.

Synthetic oil a must with Turbos

This is something as a trucker and owner operator I've delt with for years lol. I was always taught to: hood and duct tape the exhaust stack before moving it. Some places like Cat won't let you leave their facilities until this has been done. They provide canvas hoods, i provide $.02 worth of...
