Change it out for a led work light off Amazon. Better light, lasts longer and cheap. May have to drill a new mount hole depending on which light you go with but it will provide a nice upgrade.

If the battery is bad enough, even though machine is running, it can cause electrical/electronics issues. Not the first time simply replacing a bad battery has solved electrical gremlins.

If you want a quality engine kit at a reasonable price I would recommend Cleggs Engine. https://www.cleggengine.com/. If you can’t find it on the site call them. All my hard to find engine kits they‘ve either had it stock or were able to locate the parts.

Easiest way is to weld another nut onto the head of the 1 1/2” bolt. There’s lots of room to do it, the metal around the existing bolt wont interfere and it would be a 10 minute job for anyone who welds.

The other thing I would check is the vents on the chain case to make sure they’re not plugged. As the oil heats, pressure builds and eventually leads to oil pushing past the seala and damaging them.
