    825 stopped pulling

That machine has three filters. The hidden one is up under the pedals, really poor engineering. Jerry

    825 chain case draining.

I'm thinking about parting out my 825, I don't need it anymore, and it hasn't sold locally. I'm in Pennsylvania. If enough folks can use parts then I might do better parting it. It's inside, but I need the room for a new tractor. Jerry

825 Bobcat oil or hydraulic ?

I may be parting out my 825 when the weather warms up. I had the machine for sale locally but no takers. I don't need it anymore. The engine and drives are good, it's stored indoors, and that's the problem. I ordered a new tractor and need the room. If there is enough interest to make it...

    1982 Clark 825

I purchased the exact same machine a few years ago, the seller had it in a barn sitting for a few years, and he had the exact same problem. After I got it running I drained about 23 gallons of oil, and about four gallons of water out of the sump. Replaced the hydraulic filters (that third one...

    Frozen 825

Great News! That third filter is a black mark on an otherwise good machine. The 825 has lots of power, good size, and no electronics. I've always been able to get parts for reasonable prices, and an average guy can work on it. Now we just need a little break from this blasted cold weather! Jerry

    Frozen 825

The 825 has three hydraulic filters, not one, and it holds 27 Gallons of 10W30 weight oil, or hydraulic/hydrostatic fluid. Some of these machines had fiberglass lids under the seat, and these often cracked, letting in rain when the machines sat outside. There are also gaskets under this lid that...

    Info on 825 Bobcat

My 825 has a lever near the throttle, that allows you to select high or low speed for the hydraulic drive motors. The 825 was designed to hold 27 gallons of 30 weight oil for hydraulic fluid, this eliminated the need for a large coiling coil, and makes the machine pretty stable. The engine is...

    825 drive

When my 825 lost drive on one side, it turned out to be one of the small ball joints on the end of the linkage from the lever to the valve. The Bobcat dealer was able to order them for me. It looked like the material around the ball just disappeared, it wasn't melted, or worn, just gone! The...

when buying used - Hours vs year

My 825 (late seventies, early eighties vintage,) shows over 5000 hours. It's a diesel, and it runs great. Another guy had looked at it before I bought it, and he wouldn't touch it because of the hours. I looked it over, and figured that a former owner must have pulled the throttle back to shut...

Bobcat 825 Suddenly no forward drive on right side

This happened to my 825 last summer. After tilting up the cab, I removed the fiberglass cover over the pumps and motors, and found the ball end on the control rod had fallen out. It looks like a little tie rod end, and there is a steel ball held in place with some plastic? material. Anyway, the...

Help me help a good friend - Bobcat 873 starting/running issues

This might be a dumb question, since diesel engines are new to me, but is it possible that the fuel is leaking back when the engine is shut off? This would make it hard to start, wouldn't it. My 825 (Perkins engine,) has a little lever on the fuel pump, you break open a fitting and pump the...

    adapter plate

Thanks guys! I've found a few plates, and I'm going to stop up the dealer later this week, I never thought of them. Moving the middle pedal does bog the engine, so I think I'm in good shape. A friend recommended a local hydraulic shop for the hoses and connectors, so I'm on my way. Thanks, Jerry.

    adapter plate

I'm thinking of welding up an adapter to use a six and a half foot snow plow blade to use on my Bobcat 825. The plow blade is set up as a power angle plow, but the lift cylinder is missing. Any ideas regarding a good source to order a suitable adapter plate, or is it more feasible to weld up the...

825 Bobcat right hand transmission slow.

Thank You. I thought that I was the owner of the last 825 on earth! Now I know that there are at least two of us hardy souls left. Mine acted funny going forward until the right side finally failed, tilting the cab and removing the cover over the hydraulics revealed that one of the tie rod end...
