One more question on this, before I make a final decision on buying. The bobcat 811 backhoe says its righ at 2000 lbs. My JD 317 has an operating weight capacity of 1750 w/o the counterweights and 2100 with the counterweights. I don't have the counterweights, but I won't be lifting this more...

That is a big machine 90hp and 9200lb. 3000 hours is a lot of hours.

I ran across a bobcat 811 backhoe that is in fair condition. The price isn't too bad, about $1900. Am I safe to assume this would fit my 2006 JD 317 skid steer? Any recommendations on buying a used backhoe on what to look for or other backhoe brands? Do they operate ok?

Ok, so its not something I am doing wrong or something wrong with my machine. I will use the sheet of plywood next time I use that auger. Thanks!

I recently bought a skid-steer and have used it to move some dirt, rocks, etc. I rented an auger from my local bobcat dealer and planted a number of trees. Problem is I really sort of tore up the grass. The tires I have are about 70%, and i am careful when turning, but I still have skid marks...

I have a 72" bucket with a bolt on edge. I assumed they put this edge on so it could be replaced. I would like to get some teeth for the bucket. Do they make a replaceable bolt on edge with teeth I can buy? Any recommended mfg?

Can anybody confirm that a late 90s bobcat 30C auger would fit on my JD 317 skid steer? THanks in advance, Mac

Ok, thanks for the recommendations. I will use a a jack and will have the tire guys try and fix them w/o using tubes - if possible.

I bought used skid steer and it seems both front times loose pressure over time. I've had it about 2 wks and both front tires had like 10 lbs in them yesterday. Shoudl I lift the front tires off the ground, using the bucket? Take the lug nuts off and take them to a local tire dealer?

I found the problem, it was operator error. I didn't have the brake engaged and the low oil pressure light was deceving me. THanks

Hey thanks for the quick reply. That makes sense the oil pressure light would be illuminated when it isn't running,, but in my previous dozen or so times when starting.. I fasten the belt, and hit the parking brake light to the mid position. At that time I only had two lights on the control...

I bought a used 1800 hours 2006 JD 317 skid steer 2 weeks ago. I've used it a little moving some top soil, maybe 3 hrs total. Today is a hot day, first 90 degree day here in Toledo Ohio. I went to start it this afternoon and it will not turn over. The control panel shows the 'low oil pressure'...
