JD 570/ NH L 454

HI Guys, New kid on the block here and I guess this is where I should be rather than the post under JD. Anyway, I've got a JD 570 with a hole in the engine, prior to me taking "ownership"..Eng was a continental but no longer being made. What is the best and cheapest route for me to go here..Pls see JD thread for more info...THX

How's it going on that engine swap? I've put a V1305 Kubota into a NH L455. It was almost a drop in replacement for the D1402 that was original. Since the rest of your machine is identical to the 455 either of these should work well.

Thank you for the reply lj. Do date, things have stalemated for any number of reasons. Without having an engine core to work with, there has got to be some rework to the frame weldments as that was the only one of the two differences between the 454 and the 455, the other being the engines themselves....gas vs diesel. My next set is finding applications of the V1305 and then finding one that I can afford. I would really appreciate any further info you could send my way, in regards to other applications where that engine is used. I know there are many but being quite a distance from the bright lites, I find it difficult to source things out. In talking to various peoples, unless there is big bucks in it for them, they don't really have any time for the likes of me...such is life Thx again....doug
