I dont know if you have this fixed yet but I have a book on my 95xt and the brakes should be the same. the brakes are applied with springs and are part of the drive motor for each wheel. there is a park brake pressure switch that would be fluid pressure it should have 12 volts with the key on and the wire disconnected. (be sure to test the 10 amp fuse in the fuse block) also test the brake switch button on the left handle. another place to look is the safety interlock the seat switch, lap bar, and rops all have switches that have to be made. if all that is working you could have a piston seal leak that wont let the brake release build pressure. test the switch with wire unplugged should have continuity (if your light is on that is working) in theory you should be able to unplug both sides and the light will go out and you would be able to determine if a piston seal is bad on one side.
