This site seems like a great resource for owners and potential new owners. I hope that we see much more activity here. I am an ASV dealer, albeit a new one, but if I can answer any questions for anyone please let me know. Thanks, Maka

I as well would like to see more on the ctl's
I guess the boys that have laid down that much cash are busy making it back. and tire loaders must still outnumber ctl's by a large margin.
But yes I'd lke to know more about how they are finding component and track life. Asv being the first in ctl's must have a majority of the market share? Have you heard any figures on cost per hour for ctl's versus tire machines? At some point in the future I'd like to try one too, we get some soft ground and lawns where they would be a definite plus, Usually I'm not in site where I would have to make short turns, that being the part that worries me about the rubber tracks vs tires
What part of the country are you in?

The last data I saw showed ASV at about 8% market share in the CTL market with Cat and Bobcat at about 1/3 each and the bulk of the remainder split between Deere and Gehl / Takeuchi.
I've talked to an excavator that runs Cat , and he had figured the track and undercarriage cost him about $8/hr, not including the machine itself.
Funny how these things vary around the country. Where I'm at, everybody is either trading for a ctl, or trying to figure out how they can. Once a few guys had them, they spread like wildfire.

Hi guys, ASV was just here 2 days ago and I asked about market share. ASV is at 11% and in the total track market they have about 40+% with their tracks on ASV and Cat machines. In idaho the number is 25.8% of all machines are now sold with tracks. We have a huge tree farm industry here and tracks are taking that over it seems. We are in the far north of Idaho, in Bonners Ferry as well as a location in Kalispell MT. I really like these machines and hope I can contribute here as my knowledge improves. Thanks, Maka

Yeah, I hope, too, that we'll see more activity here. ASV makes a good product.

I find it hard to find answers on ASV skid steers, I have a few questions. my machine seems like it is running low on hydra pressure - I can stall the rototiller fairly easy - I have it hooked to the two fitting on the arms is this correct? also it is now lifting and turning slow once in a while ? thinking about changing filters do you think that will help?.

Changing the filter is a good place to start.
The next step is to check your hydraulic pressure and flow, see if the pump is still in good shape or if it's worn.
